About

Martina Elena Marent - Certified Massage Practioner Certification

Have you been seeking a good massage? When was the last time you took a timeout for yourself? If you appreciate, foremost, the benefits of receiving healing massage therapy, by a certified massage practioner (CMP) certification #52962, take a moment, and acquaint yourself with my bodywork.

Unlike Swedish massage, Esalen (the base massage technique used in all sessions) is a style of massage that incorporates long connective movements from head to toe throughout the session. This, in turn, creates fluidity in the massage that nurtures whole body integrative healing therapy. For example, if we are working out the knots in your shoulders, I integrate the targeted area through adding long, slow connective movements down your back, glutes, hamstrings, calves and feet, then, in like manner, slowly glide back up to your shoulder region.

My space promotes deep relaxation on many levels. Along with entering a Zen type environment, that is, low lighting, soothing music and water fountains, the space is low key, easy to get to and most importantly, private. In addition, parking is very accessible, either metered, or in the building's garage. The latter is free of charge Saturdays and Sundays.

I use a professional massage lotion that is scentless and non-greasy and keep a towel warmer to remove any trace or residue from the lotion . Unless otherwise requested, very minimal lotion is applied. Before you turn over, I apply a warm, damp towel-cloth on your back, and slowly move it down the length of your body.

Description of massage styles:

Deep tissue: This is my favorite type of bodywork to give and receive. If you need those "rocks" worked out of your shoulders, lower back, glutes, hamstrings and quads, I can assure you, given my own challenges of managing tight muscles, much relief to your sore muscles.

Stretching: This is probably the most requested technique since adding it to my session three years ago. This technique is excellent for the gluteus muscles, hamstrings and related sciatica issues.

Light touch massage: As the name suggests, this is for those who like a lighter approach to massage. If done correctly, it nurtures the process of activating the brain waves of trance-like or twilight sleep mind states for deep relaxation.
